Offer services with free legal clinics, connecting applicants to free and reduced cost attorneys, and participating in community access-to-justice events. They offer pro bono but there is a waiting list.

El Paso County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service

The El Paso County Bar Association Lawyer Referral & Information Service program refers the public to screened and qualified attorneys. If matched, you will receive a 30-minute consultation with an attorney where the attorney may charge up to $100. Any advice given thereafter will be billed to you at that attorney’s regular rate (typically $250 to $350/hour). Please be aware that many attorneys charge a retainer fee if you decide to hire them. El Paso County Child Support Services

Services include locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity, establishing financial and medical support orders, collecting support payments, enforcing child support orders and services for non-custodial parents. Hours: Mon. – Fri. 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (Except Holidays)

If you wish to submit a tip about a crime, please call. Cash rewards are paid for anonymous tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects or wanted felons, the recovery of narcotics, stolen property and cash.

Colorado Legal Services

Provides access to high-quality, civil legal services for low-income people and members of vulnerable populations. Within the website you will find self-help, legal information for civil legal matters such as family law, housing issues, Medicare/Medicaid law, food stamps, and welfare issues. You can find free or low-cost legal help, court information and referrals. You may prepare several Colorado court forms online. Hours: Mon. – Fri. 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Walk-in Hours: Mon. Pikes Peak Workforce Center

Access to the largest job demand and labor supply listings in the area. Offers job training programs, career planning, financial aid resources, workshops, assessments and hiring events. Provides service for the disadvantaged, unemployed, under-employed and dislocated workers. Youth Center for ages 16-24 also offers pre-GED testing and summer job program. Mon.-Fri. 8-4:30pm.

Sacred Heart Parish “Lord’s Dinner”

Hot meals are served Sundays, 6:00 pm Food Pantry is open Mondays and Thursdays, noon- 2 pm. We offer non-perishable food items to our neighbors in need. No voucher or referral required. All are welcome. Located in the Sacred Heart Parish Center (red brick building behind the church), 2021 W. Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80904. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Online Application

Formerly referred to as Food Stamps, SNAP helps recipients maintain healthy diets by making certain items accessible to low-income clients. Participants utilize EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) cards to pay for food with card benefits replenished monthly. Some individuals/families may qualify for both SNAP and WIC. Eligibility is determined within 30 days of application and retroactive to application date. PEAK is an online service for Coloradoans to screen and apply for medical, food, cash and early childhood assistance programs.

Good Shepherd United Methodist Church

Under the “service in mission” tab information can be found about the emergency food provided. The Good Shepherd EMERGENCY FOOD SUPPLY is located down the hall from the church office. Anyone who is living with food insecurity may receive boxes loaded with food prepared to feed a family for three days. Supplies include canned, dried, fresh and frozen foods. Hours of operation are Thursdays 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you are unable to get to the Food Pantry, they can deliver within 20 minutes. Also, if you are unable to get to the Food Pantry on Thursdays, please call the church office, to see if other arrangements can be made.

Iglesia Nueva Vida (New Life Church)

Manos de Amor (Hands of Love) is a program dedicated to giving out bags of food every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. These food bags are completely free for EVERYONE! For more information, call (719) 582-2031 Grace Church of the Nazarene also has a Commodity Supplemental Food Program. This is a federal program that provides extra food at no cost to people over the age of 60. Although the food may vary a bit, you can expect to receive a total of 9 to 10 items each month. Meal packages include a variety of foods such as milk, juice, oatmeal, cereal, rice, pasta, beans, canned meats, chicken, or fish and canned fruits and vegetables. We also provide nutrition education. Each month you’ll find information about nutrition and a recipe that uses one of the items in your food box. Eastern Plains Community Pantry

Monday – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Friday – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday – 10:00 – noon Mobile Pantry – 3rd Friday of the month, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Sign up to receive monthly commodities (ID and paperwork required). Eastern Plains Community Pantry also has an emergency food pantry available. If you or someone is need please come by the pantry during normal business hours to receive food. You do not need to prove a need or bring financial paperwork with you. Remember take only what you need. If you’re in need of clothing browse our growing selection of clothing for men, women, children, and infants. We do our best to keep up with the seasons by offering cold-weather clothes now for the colder months including t-shirts, shorts, and jeans. We also offer decorative items for your home and some kitchen accessories.

Resource Center-Springs Rescue Mission

Provides the support needed to get connected to life-changing resources at the Resource Advocate Program. Assistance is for homeless, the illiterate, and those with mental health or substance abuse issues. Assistance provided for those with no IDs, help in obtaining birth certificates and signing up for food stamps. This ia a low-barrier facility; babies and children may not be brought to an appointment. Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8:00-11:30 am and 1-3:45 pm at the Resource Center (side door).

Partners In Housing

Our mission is to provide homeless families with children the hope and opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency through supportive services and transitional housing. We provide homeless families with up to one year of transitional housing, during which time they also participate in intensive supportive services, including case management, budget counseling, life skills training and career preparedness and training. Applications may be dropped at this address or submitted by email to office@partnersinhousing.org

Mary’s Home

Mary’s Home is a faith-based supportive housing program for single mothers and children who are seeking to exit homelessness permanently. Once accepted into the program, mothers engage in a long-term, multi-year program which includes informal and formal learning to gain holistic health, life skills and economic self-sufficiency. To qualify for the program single mothers must be age 18 and over, have one to three children aged 7 and under, be homeless or imminently homeless, live in El Paso County and be eligible for TANF, CCAP and SNAP. A phone interview is required before an application is accepted. While single mothers can call Mary’s Home directly, it is beneficial to have a referral from a Life Network staff member.

Hope House of Colorado

Empowers parenting teenage moms (ages 15-20) to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God’s sight, resulting in a healthy future for them and for their children. Programs are offered to those who have already completed their pregnancy and are actively parenting their child. Long-term housing may be available.

Greccio Housing

Offers stable, safe, affordable housing and services for residents to maintain and strengthen the family structure. One-third of the residents are children. Twenty-two locations in Colorado Springs. Must have a gross income of 3 times the rent; rent can vary $275-$850. Hours: Mon., Wed., Thurs. Fri.- 8:30 am-4:30 pm and Tue. 8:30 am-6:00 pm

Family Promise of Colorado Springs

Private sleeping areas are provided to guest families for a week at a time at one of 36 faith-based facilities. Three meals and evening hospitality are provided. There is an application process and interview. Applicants must be drug-free, including marijuana. Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9 am- 4:30 pm

Catholic Charities- Family Mentor Alliance

Family Mentor Alliance (FMA) provides mentoring services (not housing) and resources to families experiencing homelessness and assistance with employment, housing placement and practical life skills enabling transition from homelessness to stable housing and improved quality of life. Assistance provided with obtaining IDs, birth certificates and bus passes.

TESSA- Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence

Check website for an additional number of phone numbers connecting you directly to an advocate. Safe house provides emergency shelter, food, case management, counseling and support to female victims and their children who have become homeless because of domestic violence. Offers group and individual psychotherapy to people involved in domestic violence, as well as to victims of sexual assault. Walk-In Advocacy Services can assist with filling out paperwork to apply for a protection order. The Children’s Program offers therapeutic services and support to children who have witnessed and/or been victims of domestic violence. Hours: Mon.-Thurs. 7:30 am-4:30 pm and Fri. 7:30 am-Noon. Emergency Shelter- R.J. Montgomery New Hope Center (Salvation Army)

Colorado Springs 24/7 emergency shelter can accommodate up to 220 people. Residents receive a warm place to sleep, meals and access to shower and laundry facilities where all necessary provisions are supplied. The Children’s Discovery Center is a place where residents can be with their children for a positive, bonding family experience. The Center offers education, individualized care and a chance for kids to be kids in a safe, clean environment. Client needs ID, to be sober/clean for 24 hours, no past or pending sexual crimes.

Shannon’s Hope

Provides a residential community for pregnant women, generally over the age of 17 wanting to rebuild their lives. One of the goals is to foster a spirit of independence for women and pass the same spirit on to their children, enabling many to break dependent roles. Must commit to a minimum of 6 months participation in program, be drug-free for at least 6 months, have no recent violent criminal charges and be able to pay a small residential fee.

Little Flower Maternity Home

Pregnant mothers over 18 can come and live free of charge from any point in their pregnancy generally until their baby is 6 months old. Mothers will spend their time saving money and working towards self-sufficiency, giving them the opportunity to focus on having a safe and healthy pregnancy and to set future goals for themselves. Mothers will enter the next chapter of their lives, leaving behind unhealthy and unsafe behavior. Not only will the mothers give birth to their babies, but they will also give birth to their own “new” life.

Free HIV screening (finger prick) and free Hepatitis C testing with same day results. Scheduling an appointment is preferred. Counseling on Prep (HIV Prevention Care) is also available. El Paso Public Health Family Planning Clinic

Clinical Services provide women and men with screening, diagnosis and treatment for STDs, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and HIV; Trichomoniasis testing for women. We also offer pregnancy testing (urine test only) and counseling, education, and referral to health care providers/agencies. Also provided are exams for women, including Pap test, pelvic and breast exams, as well as exams for men (reproductive health). Cost for services is based on age and income. Patient Assistant Plans

Free Drug Discount Card and information. Pharmaceutical companies have programs to provide free or lower cost medication for those who cannot afford to buy their medicine. The application forms range from very user-friendly to very complicated. www.needymeds.com and rxassist.org

Trimble Fund

Will help with dental needs, eyeglasses and hearing aids. The committee reviews each application and approves or denies them based on individual ability to pay and budget limitations. SET Family Medical Clinics

Uninsured & low-income patients accepted. Services include treatment of minor illnesses such as bronchitis, sore throats, earaches, eye infections, minor dermatological conditions, hypertension, and diabetes. A limited number of schools, daycare and sports physicals are also available. Dental hygiene services. An Aspen Point representative is on site for mental health services. Peak Vista Women’s Health Center

Services are customized to the needs of women at every phase of their lives: first menstruation education, birth control, prenatal care and counseling and post-partum care and support. Special services include Prenatal Plus, ensuring a healthy baby through diet and lifestyle guidance via a registered nurse, registered dietitian. Provides outpatient, primary care for children ages 0-21, for vision checks, hearing and physical development. In addition to caring for sudden illnesses, injuries and on-going primary care needs, we provide preventive physical exams and immunizations and employ full-time Behavioral Health Providers to help patients with emotional or behavioral concerns. Citizen’s Service Center- Medicaid Application

Assistance with Medicaid Application- Walk-in Application Site. You will need access to as many of these documents as possible: Birth Certificate (original ONLY, no copies), Identification (Driver’s License, State Issued ID), Social Security Card/Number, Proof of Pregnancy, Proof of Income (if applicable; if married, spouse’s income (pay stubs).

Health Care Program for Children with Special Needs

Offers care coordination of medical and social services for children with special needs, ages 0-21. Parents need not provide any diagnoses or income requirements; the county connects families to medical, mental health, oral health, psychosocial, early intervention, educational and family support services.

Family Planning Clinic

Reproductive Health: Provides reproductive health care services for men and women, including birth control and counseling on abstinence. We provide women and men with screening, diagnosis and treatment for STDs, pregnancy testing and referral to health care providers/agencies. Fees for services are charged on a sliding scale based on income.

El Paso County Public Health

Immunization Clinic: Provides immunizations; provides TB (IGRA) blood test with a physician’s order, but no TB skin test. If you are not covered by health insurance, you are strongly encouraged to contact the immunization clinic at (719) 578-3199, option 5, to discuss payment options prior to receiving a health care service since posted health care prices may not reflect the actual amount of your financial responsibility. This is the marketplace to help individuals and families purchase health insurance and apply for federal financial assistance to reduce costs. Connect for Health Colorado offers a statewide customer support network of Customer Service Center Representatives; Health Coverage Guides and licensed agents/brokers to help Coloradans find the best health plan for their needs. Colorado Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+)

A low-cost health insurance program for uninsured Colorado children ages 18 and under whose families are not eligible for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. Parents must meet income guidelines. Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8:00 am-6:00 pm

Catholic Charities-Marian House Life Support Center

Adult clothing closet, soup kitchen, Hanifen Employment Center, rent and utility assistance (COPE), food stamps, gas cards and on-site medical services. Information and referrals to other community organizations/agencies, housing information and case management are also provided. Walk-in Mon.-Fri.-10:30 am-1:00 pm

Westside Cares

A Faith Community Nurse arranges for Westside neighbors to get health care advice and referrals, emergency prescription assistance, dental care, and mental health care for underserved population. She also provides referrals to doctors and other health care providers who accept Medicaid and Medicare patients. Assistance for prescription needs may be available to Westside neighbors depending on their circumstances. Neighbors seeking prescription assistance will meet with our pastoral nurse who assesses the qualifying criteria and medical needs on an individual basis. Limited financial assistance for purchase of medicine is available on an emergency basis, as well as referrals to long-term resources. Westside CARES offers groceries at six Colorado Springs pantries to anyone in need. We also assist with signing up for SNAP benefits, and offer snack bags and occasional hot meals from our central office. Westside Cares partners with Food Trucks Against Homelessness and serves hot meals weekly Mondays at Westside CARES Between 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Westside CARES is pleased to offer four-day baskets of food each weekday and you do not need a voucher. Tri-Lakes Cares

This program serves uninsured and underinsured clients in zip code areas 80132, 80133, 80840, 80908, and 80921 in Northern El Paso County and Tri-Lakes community, Gleneagle, most of Black Forest and USAFA, who are uninsured or underinsured to obtain medical care at no cost. School and physical sports are offered to families with financial difficulties. This program is not designed or equipped to handle medical emergencies! A doctor is available by appointment only on Tuesday. Nursing services available Mon. and Thur. noon-3:00 pm Limited prescription assistance. Free over-the-counter medications (cough, allergy, first aid, etc.) Can help completing applications for RX Assist programs. Open Bible Medical Clinic and Pharmacy

Serves patients in El Paso and Teller Counties with primary medical care for acute and chronic illness, as well as provides limited mental health counseling. All our dedicated and professional staff are volunteers. Employed patients must qualify at or below 200% of the federal government’s poverty level guidelines, have no health insurance coverage, nor be enrolled for state or federal coverage, (Medicaid or Medicare), nor be a member of Peak Vista Community Health Center. Nurse Family Partnership

Free program with automatic qualification for women on Medicaid or WIC. Program is also available for those who meet other income requirements. Home visitation program for low-income, first-time moms includes home visits from a specifically trained nurse from prenatal period through the baby’s second year. Mission Medical Center

Provides free primary care, dental, vision, behavior, health care and prescription assistance for eligible, uninsured, underinsured or undocumented residents of El Paso and Teller Counties, over the age of 18. Marian House SET Clinic

Located at the soup kitchen, open during Noon meal 10:30 am- 1:00 pm) Mon.-Fri. OTC remedies and basic prescription drugs, socks, toiletries, minimal “hands-on” care provided by licensed medical volunteers for the homeless and low income. Dream Centers Women’s Clinic

Your visit to the DCCS Women’s Clinic for primary care and basic gynecology care is free for uninsured or under-insured, regardless of the services provided. If specialized care is needed beyond the services our clinic is currently able to provide, patients may incur costs at referral providers. Hours: 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Tues. SafeCare Colorado

The SafeCare Colorado program offers in-home, voluntary services that support families in gaining skills to provide a safe home, address child health needs, and engage in positive interactions with their children ages five and under. Newborn Hope

Provides resources for Colorado babies and families impacted by prematurity. They also provide grants of up to $2500 per family for services and care that families need as they transition to home from the NICU. Family Life Services-Women of Courage

Family Life Services walks with struggling single moms and their families throughout Colorado Springs through Women of Courage (WOC). WOC serves as a support community while providing life skills, one-on-one mentoring opportunities and special events. Families may be involved through the first year after the youngest child enters high school. Family Life Services is committed to nurturing and walking with single-parent mothers who are dealing with overwhelming challenges. The 2-year FLS transitional resident program encourages healing and self-sufficiency by providing low-fee, onsite living quarters, one-to-one mentoring, crisis assistance and life skills development for up to 9 single moms and their children (up to age 18). FLS strives to provide each mom with a safe, structured environment in which to rebuild their families. Clients must be employed full-time (or working part-time along with part-time school) and able to pay the minimum rent. Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP)

Financial assistance is available for eligible, low-income families for childcare costs. Applicant must be employed full-time, be in school full-time, or be a TANF recipient. Clients up to age 19 automatically qualify if in school full-time. TANF recipients may contact their caseworker for assistance in applying. Help is provided at the county (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm) to complete the application; **call to schedule an appointment**. Expectant moms should begin the childcare application process immediately by 1) contacting a childcare facility to be place on a wait list, 2) finding employment, and 3) obtaining documents necessary for application. Attendees can receive a free manual breast pump after delivery. If a mother applies for WIC before birth and baby must remain in NICU after birth, mom can receive an electric breast pump. Electric pumps are loaned to clients who are currently active WIC program participants only, free of charge, by appointment only, based on a “need priority system” and subject to availability. Peak Vista First Visitor

El Paso County Public Health aims to address the issue of suicide and mental health by focusing on prevention and early intervention efforts in the community. Provides a 15-session “Fathering Class” that teaches dads to be more actively and positively involved in their children’s development, and a 10-session program called “Conflict-Resolution for Dads”. Also, Fathers in Training class for new dads with information on safe home, safe sleep, shaken baby syndrome.

We provide individual, family, group and specialized therapy designed to achieve immediate results and long-term recovery. We offer a full complement of support services to assist with transition and re-adjustment. Serves all clients regardless of ability to pay. Resource information available for in- crisis patient needs. Mon. – Fri. 7 am – 7 pm; Sat. 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Lighthouse offers a secure 24-hour Acute Treatment Unit (ATU) focused on short-term stabilization, treating adults age 18 and over who are experiencing problems with psychiatric illnesses and/or emotional disorders that need immediate attention. Also, it treats children in crisis.

Celebrate Recovery

Ministry for those dealing with sexual abuse, addictions and compulsions, hurts, habits or hang-ups. Provides fellowship and celebrates God’s healing power through the 12 Steps Recovery Program. Recovery from abortion for both men and women. Program for men dealing with purity issues or program for women married to men dealing with purity issues.

Catholic Charities – Marian House Life Support Center

Adult clothing closet, soup kitchen, Hanifen Employment Center, rent and utility assistance (COPE), food stamps, gas cards and on-site medical services. Information and referrals to other community organizations/agencies, housing information and case management are also provided. Walk-in Mon. – Fri. – 10:30am – 1pm.

Springs Rescue Mission

A shelter that provides, meals, showers, laundry services, addiction recovery, minimal healthcare, transitional housing, support groups, skills and career training. All services are for guests only. Low barrier, year-round shelter with 450 beds available. The shelter opens at 5:00 pm each day. This shelter operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Only single women are allowed, no children. Separate sleeping areas available for women and men. There are no requirements for entry (no breathalyzers, no background checks, etc.- safety is a priority), but ability to stay will be determined by the behavior of the client. There are no medical personnel on site. This shelter also provides a hot breakfast each morning. In addition, limited kennel space is available for small pets.

Colorado Springs Central Seventh Day Adventist Church

Offers emergency food, commodities, senior boxes and clothing assistance on every Monday from 10 am – 2:30 pm and the 1st and 3rd Sat. of the month from 1:30 – 4 pm.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

Provides food vouchers, nutrition education and breastfeeding support for pregnant women, infants and children up to age 5. Must financially qualify and meet certain criteria to be eligible. To qualify for WIC, you must live in Colorado and be a: Pregnant, Mom breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age, new mom who had a baby or was pregnant in the past 6 months, baby, Child younger than 5 years. WIC welcomes all parents and caregivers! If you are a dad, grandparent, foster parent or any caregiver of a child under 5 years of age, you may get WIC for your child. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for the WIC program. Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m.

Crossfire Ministries

Services are free to anyone in need, if available: food pantry, clothing, personal hygiene items and household items vouchers. Utility Assistance may be available with application. Picture ID is required for primary adult, plus social security card or alternate ID for all family members, as well as proof of address. Bring boxes or bags to take items home. Telephone-based coaching program from smokers who are quitting and ex-smokers alike. Program provides planning, educational materials and coaching. In addition, you may be eligible to receive free nicotine quit medication (gum, lozenges or patch). From simple smoking cessation tips to shared experiences, the QuitNet community is designed to help members help each other quit smoking…for good!

Medicaid Recovery and Counseling Telecare

Offers multiple programs for Medicaid members, including Recovery Care (supporting individuals in recovery from substance abuse); Wellness and Prevention (diet, nutrition, health problems, troubleshoot nursing problems). Chronic Disease Management; Depression Care (coaching, not therapy). Telecare can refer to therapy if needed.

Heart Matters

The experienced teams of counselors at Heart Matters know each person and their journey is unique, so they work together to ensure the best emotional, psychological, and spiritual care for your specific needs. They offer individual and couples counseling, specializing in trauma recovery, co- dependence, sexual addiction, partners of sexual addiction and same-sex attraction. They also offer 3-Day Intensives for addictions and trauma recovery.

Homeward Pikes Peak – Harbor House Clinic

Free outpatient substance abuse treatment for pregnant women or women who have delivered a drug- or alcohol-exposed infant. For inpatient services, an assessment of client needs is completed to determine an individual treatment plan for group, individual or family counseling services. Clients attending classes can also receive diapers, formula, and transportation support. Supervised home for pregnant women or those with infants up to 12 months old; works with DHS to document treatment for those working toward recovery and to regain lost parental rights. Clients desiring consideration for housing must be referred by DHS or Dept. of Corrections.
