Peak Vista First Visitor
Free home support program providing basic information on child health, nutrition, safety and early development during the critical first three years, as well as emotional support and a network of community-based resources, regardless of whether client is a first-time mother. The program is also available for foster parents, adoptive parents or grandparents. Resources include Pack and Play, emergency clothing and shoes, toys and diapers. Classes offered in English and Spanish on the topics of Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS), Abusive Head Trauma (AHT), and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Colorado Works (TANF) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
Provides cash assistance to low-income families. Application for any Colorado Works program begins with an assessment designed to determine a family’s needs, challenges, strengths and level of job readiness. Services provided include financial assistance, food stamps, Medicaid and child care. Hours: Mon. – Fri. Walk-ins: 8:30 am- 12:30 pm & by appointments only: 1:30 pm- 5:00 pm

Hot meals served: Sun. and Wed. 4:45 pm, free to anyone in need. Manna’s website provides a list of local food pantries and contacts for financial assistance, shelter and housing, veteran and medical resources.

Home Front Cares
Provides emergency grants for military service members, veterans and their families. Call the help line at 434-1501 to see if you qualify to apply for assistance and, if you do, you will be instructed how to apply through a referring agency. You will be directed what documents to bring with you if you qualify to apply.

Operation Homefront
Provides financial assistance to eligible service members and veterans. Assistance includes rent assistance, mortgage assistance, utility bill assistance, food, baby items, car payments and repairs, and home repairs and major appliance repairs. Go online to apply for assistance or call for more information. Individuals completing an application should use Internet Explorer or Firefox internet browsers on a computer; the application cannot be completed on a smart phone or tablet. Operation Round-Up
Operation Round-Up is a fund to assist customers of Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA). The fund has paid for past due medical bills, propane, utility bills (does not cover MVEA utility bills), car repairs, wheelchairs, dental, glasses, rent, mortgages and more. Fill out the complete application found at https://www.mvea.coop/community/round-up/. The board meets in January, March, May, July, September and November. Applications received by the 25th day of December, February, April, June, August and October will be considered at the following regularly scheduled meeting. See application for more details.

We are a growing nonprofit dedicated to preventing domestic violence amongst teens and rescuing women from crisis. We work with various agencies, including our military, to connect those in need to the services available.

TESSA – Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence
Safe house provides emergency shelter, food, case management, counseling and support to female victims and their children who have become homeless because of domestic violence. Offers group and individual psychotherapy to people involved in domestic violence, as well as to victims of sexual assault. Walk-In Advocacy Services can assist with filling out paperwork to apply for a protection order. The Children’s Program offers therapeutic and non-therapeutic services and support to children who have witnessed and/or been victims of domestic violence. Hours: Mon. – Thurs. 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Fri. 7:30 am – Noon. Locations throughout El Paso County.
